Earthquakes force a re-think in building material
The earthquakes in New Zealand and Turkey recently highlight again the impact of building material in stability during natural disasters.

Work on two steel framing machines was already underway for a client in Turkey when a major earthquake hit the eastern part of the country recently. The Turkish government was been vocal in its support of steel framing as the first choice material in the rebuild of the affected communities. As a result the Hayes team are working hard to fast track the two machines destined for Turkey so they can use these to help with the rebuild as soon as possible.

Hayes International is delighted to announce they are now exporting to their 75th country: Uganda
Hayes International has negotiated a significant contract with an emerging Ugandan based company. Hayes will supply roll forming equipment to this client in the coming months. The client indicated they based their decision on the robust machinery, ease of operation and the global support that Hayes offers.

“The Hayes team is excited by the opportunity to work with this client and are looking forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship”

Mike Lowe – Managing Director Hayes International.

The first Hayes purlin stacker is under development
The first Hayes Purlin Stacker is currently being constructed. This is designed to go behind any Purlin Mill and can stack purlins up to 18 meters long and 300kg.

Manually stacking purlins is a high risk process. The Purlin Stacker in development will automate this process and therefore reduce the risk of injury to personnel and damage to the purlins themselves.

We will be updating this page as we progress with this development so continue to check back to see the Purlin Stacker come to life...

The first Bradbury group annual general meeting held in Rotorua in time for the rugby world cup
For the first time in 12 years the Bradbury group AGM was held in Rotorua New Zealand. Hayes International was very pleased to welcome the divisional managers from China, United Kingdom, Australia, United States and Canada.

Strategic planning for the coming year was high on the agenda and given the significant changes in the industry due to the global financial crisis the Bradbury team continue to respond quickly to consolidate our place in the market.

With the Rugby World Cup being held in New Zealand at the same time – the team was able to attend the match between Ireland and Russia at the Rotorua International Stadium, a great night out for all!

Acquisition of the Intellectual Property and Assets of Hilleng International and Die-Craft

The Bradbury Company, is pleased to announce its further expansion into the southern hemisphere. The company has entered into an agreement to acquire the assets and intellectual property of Hilleng International and Die-Craft, both companies residing in Brisbane, Australia. The existing Hayes Australian business has been re-named Bradbury Group Australia Pty Ltd.

Hilling International is the leading manufacturer of sandwich panel laminating machinery and systems. Die-Craft has been established for more than 25 years and is the leading supplier of rollforming equipment to the rainwater goods market.

Mike Lowe, Managing Director of Hayes International commented, “This acquisistion allows the four strong brands of Bradbury, Hayes, Hilleng and Die-Craft to be under one umbrella. We will be merging the staff of Hayes Australia Pty Ltd into Bradbury Group Australia, Pty Ltd.

This greatly increases our service and support of the Austrailia and Southeast Asia marketplace. This move is terrific news for our customers as it enables the company to move from small facilities to a much larger integrated environment offering better service and support capabilities for all our customers.

Service Level Agreements ( SLA’s )
Responding to many requests from our customers , we are embarking on a program to offer SLA’s on all machines. We have noted that the skills level throughout the rollforming industry is diminishing , at the same time when machinery controls and mechanical complexity are increasing. Not that long ago , each site would have their own maintenance staff that looked after the equipment. The trend these days is to outsource this work , but sadly in most cases, this is outsourced to general engineering companies that do not have rollforming experience.

Hayes has decided to increase our ability to service not only our own, but all manufacturers equipment , and to offer a schedule of programmed site visits tailored to meet each customers requirements. As part of the Bradbury Group , we are the largest manufacturer of rollforming equipment in the world and logically have the most experience to help our customers.

The cost of this service is minimal when considering the flip-side . It always amazes me that equipment that can cost well over $1million , are used in aggressive environments for many years , that earn their owners commensurately millions of dollars of income , get less service attention then the company pick-up truck or the boss’s Mercedes !

We want to ensure our customers get the best from their equipment , and see our SLA’s as one method of helping you do so. Please contact our Service Managers for more information.
